Blanchardstown Methodist Church has grown from a small gathering of believers into a vibrant, diverse Christian community serving Dublin 15. Our story is one of partnership, renewal, and a deep commitment to sharing God’s love with our neighbours.
The church began in 1986, when a small group of Methodists started meeting for worship in St. Brigid’s Community Centre, thanks to the generous support of the local parish and Fr. Seamus McGeehan.
Under the leadership of Rev. Ken Lindsay, the congregation grew steadily and later met in Clonsilla and Connolly Hospital.
By 1991, regular services came to a close, marking the end of the first chapter of the church’s life in Dublin 15.
After more than a decade of inactivity, the church was re‑established in 2008 by a small group of families connected to the Dublin Central Mission. With encouragement from Rev. John Stephens and support from Philip McKinley, worship resumed in Tyrrelstown Educate Together National School.
In 2013, the church moved into a dedicated worship space in Tyrrelstown Town Centre, where it continues to grow as a welcoming, multicultural congregation.
Blanchardstown Methodist Church is part of the Dublin Central Mission Circuit, alongside Abbey Street, Lucan, and other outreach ministries. We belong to the Methodist Church in Ireland, a denomination shaped by the Wesley a tradition of practical faith, community, and social justice.
Today, our church continues to grow as a place of worship, friendship, and service. We welcome people of all backgrounds to join us as we follow Christ and serve our community in Dublin 15.
