Are you living in or around Tyrrelstown ? Are you looking for a place of worship?
This is the place to be .
We are Seeking to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, to bring hope, encourage personal faith and use your gifts to build up the ministry of the Church and serve the community.
Blanchardstown Methodist Church is a vibrant and growing community of faith, located in the heart of Dublin’s northwest. We are part of the Dublin Central Mission Circuit, which includes Abbey Street, Dublin, Lucan, and several other outreach missions. Together, we form part of the wider Methodist Church in Ireland, committed to spreading Christ’s message of hope and love across our city and beyond.
Our Vision:
To reflect God's love by welcoming, serving, and supporting those who need it most.
Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning after a break, or looking for a church family to belong to, you are welcome here.
Our story began in 1986, when a small group of believers came together to form a church community in St. Brigid’s Community Centre. This was made possible through the generous support of Fr. Seamus McGeehan and the local parish council — a true example of Christian unity and cooperation.
Rev. Ken Lindsay became our first minister, serving from 1986 to 1988. Under his leadership, the congregation flourished and grew faster than anyone had anticipated. During this time, Rev. Lindsay lived in Clonsilla, nurturing the spiritual and pastoral needs of the growing church family.
In 1989, following the closure of meetings at the Community Centre, the congregation briefly met at Connolly Hospital, before services were paused in 1991. Though this marked the end of an early chapter, it planted seeds for future renewal.
After more than a decade of silence, God reignited the flame of worship in Blanchardstown in 2008. A small group of families, previously attending services in the Dublin Central Mission, came together with a renewed passion to restart the church.
With the encouragement of Rev. John Stephens and the dedicated work of Philip McKinley, who served as Church Development Worker, regular worship resumed in Tyrellstown Educate Together National School, where services continued from 2008 to 2014.
In 2013, the church found a more permanent home, securing a worship space in Tyrellstown Town Centre. This location remains our current base of worship and ministry, where we continue to welcome new families and individuals each week.
Today, Blanchardstown Methodist Church is more than just a place of worship — it’s a community of care, belonging, and purpose. We gather not only to worship but also to serve our neighbor's, grow in faith, and journey together through life’s joys and challenges.
Whether you're new to the area, seeking spiritual guidance, or simply looking for connection, we invite you to join us. There is a place for you here.
